How to use Cement Planters
Like a clay pot it is porous and allows air to pass through.
- water evaporates fast
Great if you overwater your plants or you need to let them dry out between waterings such as with most succulents.
Can cause root rot if no drainage hole is present and you overwater. To prevent this, use measured waterings with a disposable syringe and look at the color change in the planter. If you see dark or wet looking cement it has water. If it's a light gray to almost white the planter is dry.
I make and use cement planters for all my succulents. Most of the cement planters are 3 inches and some of them have drainage holes for delicate plants.
